The Corning Cable Systems UNI(tm) 3003 Series Universal Network Interface Devices are environmentally sealed units which provide demarcation points for subscriber lines. The 3-line capacity housings, molded from an engineering grade thermoplastic, are ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. Internal components are constructed with the highest quality brass and stainless steel material for increased durability and corrosion resistance. Protector modules and network connections can be quickly accessed through the one-step telco access design. The internal layout is specifically designed for flexibility and universality, capable of accepting a wide variety of industry-standard line modules and protectors. The snap-in ground feature minimizes installation time and wiring errors, resulting in significant operational savings. Heavy-duty rear and bottom-entry grommets are located to optimize internal wiring management. This UNI-3003 features the Universal Line Module (ULM), equipped with either Insulation Displacement Connections (IDCs) or Screw Terminals, features integrated protection, telco demarcation and testing, as well as subscriber termination in one compact, modular unit. The IDC Universal Line Module is also available with integrated ADSL/VDSL splitter circuitry (ULM-DSL). that meets all ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL, and VDSL2 requirements, and includes ring trip enhancements to prevent errors in video deployments. All ULMs have an innovative bypass switch design that physically disengages the plug from the jack prior to subscriber wiring access, fulfilling UL safety requirements. Highly visible orange levers and engraved line module doors on the IDC ULM clearly indicate each tip/ring slot, as well as connected and disconnected IDC positions. The IDC ULM exceeds Telcordia requirements for sealed terminations by integrating the Insulation Displacement Connections (IDC), subscriber bridge and RJ11 test jack into an environmentally sealed module.
